Welcome to Brightwells Gostrey
"Life is like a cup of tea, to be filled to the brim and enjoyed with friends."
We wanted to provide you all with an update now that the restrictions have changed. The last 18 months have been incredibly difficult for us all and it has been an absolute joy to be able to reopen the doors to our social centre and see everyone again, as well as continuing to operate our vital Community Meal Service throughout the whole of the pandemic.
We have exciting plans for the future with a host of new groups and activities that we are very much looking forward to introducing.
All our staff and volunteers work tirelessly to keep the centre open and operating in the safest way possible, whilst still making us a warm and friendly place to visit. It has been a huge team effort and we are extremely grateful to each and every one.
From Monday 19 July you will not notice too much of a difference. We feel it is extremely important that we keep on maintaining the safe environment that we have created, helping to minimise the risk of COVID 19 spreading.
Our freedom is the pleasure of our clients being able to meet and socialise with each other.
We politely ask that you help us to continue to do this – if you are visiting the hall, please continue to wear your mask, keep a friendly distance as well as washing/ sanitising your hands.
With thanks from everyone at Brightwells Gostrey
Brightwells Gostrey has been in the heart of the community for older people for over 30 years. We provide a warm and friendly environment for senior citizens to meet. Offering a variety of vital services including door to door transport via hoppa Community Transport, freshly cooked meals, daily activities, exercise, arts & crafts, games and much more. We are proud to bring a sense of belonging, companionship, fun and enjoyment to those in their golden years
We are a registered charity and regularly fundraise, however, in order for us to continue to offer our services, we are also heavily dependent on the generous donations and funding that we receive. Every single penny goes such a long way and makes a real difference
If you would like to make a donation, please do get in touch
We have a team of dedicated staff, but we also rely on our volunteers to help with the day to day running of the centre. Without them, we simply would not exist.
If you have a spare few hours each week or only on an occasional basis - whatever your interest or skill - assisting with our groups, delivering our community meals, helping out in our kitchen or community garden, we will definitely have a role and would love to hear from you!
