Part Time, Kitchen Assistant
We are looking for a part time assistant to join our fantastic kitchen team. If you have high standards, a great team spirit and a willingness to learn we would like to hear from you.
We are extremely proud to have been in the heart of the community for older people for over 30 years, bringing a sense of belonging, companionship, fun and enjoyment to those in their golden years.
Our close knit and busy kitchen is at the centre of this; preparing vital meals, which we deliver to the most vulnerable, as well as lunches for those who come to our social centre.
As the Kitchen Assistant, you will be integral in our day to day running.
Main duties will include:
Helping to prepare nutritionally well-balanced meals under the guidance of our head chef
Ensuring the correct use of all machinery and equipment
General housekeeping including cleaning to help maintain a safe and healthy environment
Washing up when required
Assisting with the loading or unloading of deliveries and supply vehicles
Complying with Food Handling & Hygiene standards
Complying with Health & Safety regulations
Occasional delivery duties in the event of an emergency
Our ideal kitchen assistant will:
Demonstrate an ability to manage pressure, prioritise tasks and communicate effectively at all levels
Have a committed and organised approach
A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided
Have a full driving licence

27.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday
Competitive rate of pay – starting salary of £10p/h
